COVID-19 poster design competition winners

19 June 2020 Katie Sixsmith

During the first lockdown of the coronavirus pandemic, we hosted a poster competition for UK primary and secondary school students to see who could come up with the best design around a message of 'Staying Safe'.

It was designed to be a fun, educational exercise for the students during an uncertain and difficult time and the winners were given 50 professionally printed copies of their designs which could be used around their school building and grounds.

We had some incredible entries from students of all ages and it was very difficult for our team of judges to decide the winners - however, in the end there were 2 which really stood out for us.

The winners of our design competition:

Our primary school winner is
Evie - aged 10 - from Connaught Junior School.

Our judging panel felt this beautifully drawn poster captured all of the key messages on being safe during COVID-19 in a very colourful and clear way.

Congratulations Evie!

Our secondary school winner is
Anik - aged 12 - from Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet.

We were blown away by the technical skill of this drawing and loved the multi-coloured effect combined with the themed interpretation of a historical poster.

Congratulations Anik!

Secondary poster winner - Anik aged 12

There were so many fantastic entries submitted and we want to thank all of the schools, MATs, parents and students who joined in with our competition.

All of the entries we saw were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed looking through them all and seeing your skills.

Keep up the great work - we can definitely see a lot of future artists, designers and architects amongst you!
